This guide is for general education. It does not diagnose a condition or replace advice from a healthcare professional. Symptoms and ongoing concerns deserve appropriate assessment.

What to keep in mind.
- Start with what you want to understand.
- A larger testing pack is not automatically more suitable.
- Know who to contact if symptoms or results raise concerns.
What would you like to understand?
Maybe something has changed. Maybe there is a family conversation you have been putting off. Start by putting the question into ordinary words.
You do not need to know the right medical term. A short note about what worries you can help make a conversation with a healthcare professional easier.
Match the next step to the question
Different tests have different purposes. A screen for one marker cannot give you a complete picture of your health.
Before choosing, ask: what does this test look for, what are its limitations and what would I do after either result? You do not need every available test to take a practical step.
Make space for professional advice
Symptoms and persistent concerns should not be put on hold while you shop for screening. Contact an appropriate healthcare service about the concern itself.
PSA is one example of why context matters: the NHS advises discussing the benefits and risks of testing with a GP. A screening result is not a cancer diagnosis.

Write down your questions. Read the intended use and instructions. Decide who you would ask for help understanding a result.
The aim is a considered next step, not a perfect score or a long list of purchases. Our test finder can introduce the planned SelfTest options while keeping their limitations visible.
